The Complete Guide to Digital Nomad Visa Requirements part IV

The Digital Nomad visa is a new visa for Spain, and since its infancy, a lot of the rules and requirements have changed, and are changing still. It's important that you are up to date not just with the requirements but with the application process as well, especially if you are applying from within Spain. The last thing you'd want to do is to fly back to your home country just for a single piece of paperwork!

Here are the common mistakes that could mean a rejection of your DNV application:

Not having the right insurance: Unless you have an S1 from the UK, your home country's comprehensive private health insurance will not be accepted. You will need to get one from a Spanish company or contact an English speaking broker like our friends at Innoinsure.

Not disclosing a past criminal offense: I mean, this one is pretty self-explanatory. You do have to be truthful in your application, and be able to explain your past situation. Having a record doesn’t automatically disqualify you — but being dishonest on your application could.

Not flying directly into Spain: It will be so much easier to apply for the DNV within Spain if you enter the EU and get your passport stamped IN SPAIN.

Not using a sworn translator: You cannot just use Google translate for your official documents. You have to look for approved sworn translators called Traductor Jurado.
